Nadine

My name is Nadine and I am 19 years old. I know Katrin since my birth. Her Mother was for a certain periode my foster-mumm, that’s why we spent a long time together. By our proximity I didn’t noticed Katrins handicap. Until I was 10 years ,we were like sisters during my time at katrins. And you couldn’t see any physicially restrictions.

After we didn’t see each other so often anymore I started to realize her external handicap but it wasn’t unnormal for me- I didn’t know her with out handicap. And I didn’t noticed any reactions from other people on her Arms.

During the summer holidays in Switzerland I got my first impression from Katrin’s clinical picture. We teased each other and Katrin kicked me against my shin bone and I defended on her, of course and kicked her as well. For me personally it was not so strong but Katrins mother critizised me and she told me that I must be careful with Katrin because she gets blue bruises.

I was extraordinary sad and offend (I got always blue bruises when she kicked me!) My mum explaint to me that I must be careful with Katrin because she hase longer bleeding times. Since then I payed attentione and try to be careful with her but I didn’t search for more information about it.

Later in the 10th class I started to concern with the haemophiliac and I was more interested in that syndrom . I always believed that Katrin suffer under haemophiliac. Actually only men could get that disease and I thought Katrin would be an exception.

And now Katrin asked me for writing a short report about her and the Syndrom . Finally I knew the connection between her extraordinary handicap and the bleeding risk.

But honestly I don’t exactly know the clinical picture and honestly it doesn’t really have a high value. The most important thing is the friendship between me and Katrin and that I don’t always think about what a poor girl she is with her Syndrom.
